Dynamite are teaming up with Archie Comics to bring together an unlikely combination in The Army of Darkness and Archie. At least it is an unlikely pairing on paper, but both titles have had great success with crossovers before like The Army of Darkness vs. Hack/Slash and Archie vs. Predator.
This mini-series will see Ashley J. Williams in the town of Riverdale; its picturesque-look perfectly juxtaposed to the violence that follows Ash around. Although Dynamite’s press release suggests otherwise, and that perhaps life will be different for Ash, finding peace there. Of course not. This tranquility will not last as Archie discovers the Necronomicon ex Mortis and unwittingly bring forth the legions of dead. Ash once again, with the people of Riverdale, will have to fight back the Deadites.
Writing the series is Erik Burnham, who has experience writing Ash and the Deadites, having authored The Army of Darkness vs. Reanimator: Necronomicon Rising back in 2022. He has a history of working on big franchises like Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so Archie fans should know they are in good hands.

Archie fans will be even more pleased knowing veteran artist Bill Galvan will be illustrating it. Galvan has drawn Archie and the gang for two decades and knows the town inside out. Galvan will no doubt help the world of Archie shine alongside all the Deadite action.
There will be plenty of variant covers for fans to look out for as well, with Galvan, Robert Hack, Laura Braga, Craig Cermak, and Stuart Sayger all illustrating some.
